In fact, it was her second being the successor of Housekeeping (1980). Nevertheless, Gilead is based upon an epistolary style where the entire plot is conveyed in a journal sort manner. It narrates the autobiography of a small-town minister from Gilead, Iowa, John Ames. Ames knows that he has a heart condition that will soon be the cause of his death. At the start of the book, Ames seems to have been writing a whole account/journal on his life for his seven year old kid. Ames also explains that he was born on 1880. And at the time of writing this journal (1956), he is 76 years old.
Between The World And Me – Ta-Nehisi Coates
Between The World and Me is a novel that was published in 2015 by Ta-Nehisi Coates. This novel also takes up an epistolary style as it takes the form of a letter that the author is writing to his son. Coates is just a explaining and opening up to his son about the struggles of life. And how people who are Black are treated in the United States of America. The author took some historical events into account as well whilst writing this novel stating how racism has cultivated into the American culture since years.
Cloud Atlas – David Mitchell
Cloud Atlas is book the third book by the British novelist David Mitchell. It was first published in 2004 and imminently went onto win some big awards, for example the Richard & Judy Book of The Year award. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell is a historical and scientific fiction narrative that intrigues the reader’s interest and curiosity. It can also be recalled as a book depicting human nature and reincarnation as per the author.

J.K. Rowling is undoubtedly the most famous author of the 21st century. She is the British author who wrote the dreamy and once in a lifetime story of Harry Potter.
