Into The Woods:

Into the Woods, one of Sondheim’s best-known musicals that was adapted into a Disney film is a lovely mash-up of numerous iconic fairy-tale characters. As they all seek their wishes and battle a huge enemy. However, the program only intended to receive a brief resurrection. Nevertheless, the show drew in so many spectators that the theater chose to extend the revival until early January 2023 to keep the show going.

Nathan Lane, Danny Burstein, and Zo Wanamaker make up the picture-perfect cast for this new drama by Sharr White. The Musical Pictures From Home is based on Larry Sultan’s memoir of the same name, which details the family secrets and realities he discovered while interviewing and photographing his parents. Bartlett Sher (To Kill a Mockingbird), a Tony Award winner, is the director.

Sweeney Todd:

This recently announced production of another Sondheim favorite, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, is led by Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford. In the iconic horror musical Sweeney Todd, Groban plays a serial killer who wants vengeance on a judge who wronged him. Moreover, there is currently a lack of information on additional casting and production specifics.

The Kite Runner:

The Kite Runner will have its Broadway debut at the Hayes Theatre with Amir Arison playing the lead role after two performances in London’s West End. The show, which Matthew Spangler adapted from a Khaled Hosseini novel, follows Amir as he flees the awful events taking place in Afghanistan from childhood to adulthood.

A star-studded ensemble and creative team, including producer Kandi Burruss, director LaTanya Richardson Jackson, actors Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, Ray Fisher, and more, assembled for the upcoming Broadway revival of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama The Piano Lesson. The show centers on a brother and sister engaged in conflict over a family heirloom piano that was carved with the faces of their ancestors in 1936 Pittsburgh’s Hill District.
