Tory Lanez And Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Trial Delay

Megan Thee Stallion, also known as Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, was allegedly shot in the foot in Hollywood Hills, California, in 2020 by Canadian rapper Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson. The criminal trial for the shooting is scheduled to start on September 14. He was charged with the shooting in 2020 but entered a not-guilty plea.

It all started with an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings in April, Megan Thee Stallion talked openly about the incident, revealing that she, Lanez, and her former best friend Kelsey Harris got into a fight as they were leaving a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home in July 2020.

The rapper claims that Lanez was the shooter when the argument turned violent and there was gunfire. Megan Thee Stallion corroborated reports in the media and on social media that Lanez shot the woman in the foot as she tried to exit the car they were riding in.

She acknowledged in a different interview that she initially misled the police by telling them she had stepped on glass at the scene. As the incident occurred at the height of the Black Lives Matter demonstrations.

She claimed that she worried about her friends who were all being detained by the police. Later, the rapper claimed that Lanez offered her money to keep quiet and apologized for the incident. Lanez entered a not-guilty plea in November 2020 after being charged with felony assault.

The Trial Got Delayed Until December 2022:

Even though Tory Lanez’s trial for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion was set to begin on Wednesday. There was no sign of anxiety on his face as he waited outside the courthouse.

When asked about his current mental state on camera on Wednesday. As he entered and left the courthouse, Tory responded coolly that he was “chilling.” The fact that nothing significant happened in court may have contributed to that cool response. The trial was once again postponed, in part due to Tory’s attorney being preoccupied with another case. 

November 28 through December 8 will mark the new trial date. Kelsey Harris, Megan’s former best friend, was also present in court. And will give a testimony for the prosecution regarding what she witnessed that evening. Recall that Tory and Megan were in the SUV with Kelsey.
