United States has always been concerned about the architectural importance of their buildings. They have built iconic skyscrapers that are open for people to visit. However, lets look at some of the tallest buildings in the States.
One World Trade Center
Located in the city that never sleeps, One World Trade Center is by far the tallest building in the U.S. Its not only the tallest in America but its also the sixth tallest in the whole world. Its total height is around 541 meters (1776 ft). This skyscraper is mostly used as an office space. It also had a twin brother but it got destroyed in a serious terrorist attack.
Central Park Tower
Another New Yorker on the list is Central Park Tower. It is said that this tower is the tallest residential building in the whole world. Its further located in Midtown Manhattan. It has a total of 426 residential units and the largest apartments have up to eight bedrooms. This tower is the second tallest building in the U.S. and goes up to 472 meters (1550 ft).
Willis Tower
The Willis Tower was free of construction in 1974. It is located in Chicago and is around 442 meters (1451 ft) tall. It also has 108 floors. The Willis Tower was before known as the Sears Tower. It even outplayed the tallest building in the States, World Trade Center, until 1998. When the Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur took charge and went higher, the Willis Tower remained the tallest building in America until 2013. Its Skydeck Ledge is the focal point of the building as it offers a view over all of Chicago. Many locals and tourists visit the Willis Tower throughout the year mainly due to its Skydeck.
Steinway Tower
Yet another New York based skyscraper on the list is the Steinway Tower. It is also known as “111 West 57th Street”. Its also a residential tower much alike Central Park Tower. A surprising fact about this tower is that it is the world’s ‘skinniest’ building. Its only 60 feet wide but 435 meters (1427 ft) tall.
One Vanderbilt Place
This building is around 427 meters (1401 ft) tall and has about 67 floors installed. Well there’s something about New York now isn’t it? It’s called the city that never sleeps for a reason. One Vanderbilt place is mostly used as an office space as well. It is also the second tallest office building in Manhattan behind One World Trade Center.
