Tesla is a multinational American company that excels in the field of automation and clean energy. The company designs and manufactures electric vehicles, battery energy storage from home to grid, solar roof tiles, and solar panels. Tesla is currently one of the world’s most valuable companies. 

Tesla is widely renowned as a big tech company due to the market cap it attains. The company remains the world’s most valuable automaker as it gathers a market cap of more than $840 billion. The company conquered 2021 when it had the most sales of battery electric vehicles and subsequently captured 21% of the market. Tesla Energy is also the largest global supplier of battery energy storage systems with 3.99 gigawatts per hour (GWh). 

The company’s name is a well-thought tribute to the inventor and electrical genius Nikola Tesla. In 2004, Elon Musk became the largest shareholder in the company by investing $6.5 million. Elon Musk began to serve as a CEO in 2008.

According to Musk, Tesla serves the purpose of people getting around to the idea of sustainable transport and energy, obtained through solar power and electric vehicles. Tesla started production for its first car (Roadster) in 2009. This was then followed by the Model S sedan in 2012. Similarly, the Model X SUV was released in 2015, the Model 3 sedan in 2017, and the Model Y crossover in 2020. The Model 3 there is the best-selling plug-in electric car in the world. 

Tesla’s global sales of cars in 2021 were 936,222, an 87% increment over the previous year. However, in October 2021, Tesla’s market cap reached a staggering $1 trillion making it the only sixth company to do so in U.S. history.

As of yet, there are only five different versions of Tesla. The Roadster, Model S, Model X, Model Y, and Model 3.

The company has many great Models but its Model S Plaid is undoubtedly the best one of the lot. It offers the best specs out of any Tesla Model. The top speed reaches 200 mph for this vehicle. Model S also has an AWD electric motor that allows it to go from 0-60 mph in 1.99 seconds.

Tesla Model 3 is the cheapest of all Models. It’s a mid-sized sedan that offers all the great features a Tesla should offer but at a minimal price.
