Dubai’s First $5 Billion Moon-Themed Luxury Resort Unveiled

A luxurious and state-of-the-art resort with a moon theme is expected to be built in Dubai before the end of this decade, reports Arabian Business. The Canadian Architectural design firm Moon Resorts Inc. will be given the task to carry out the designing and structure of this dreamlike resort. 

Dubai is not a stranger to grandiose architectural plans. Dubai is also home to the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. The design and architecture of Burj Khalifa is also regarded highly. 

Moon Dubai

The resort features two main proposers cum founders, Michael R. Henderson and Sandra G. Matthews. It is estimated to stand at 735 ft (224 meters) almost. The total construction time is expected to be around 48 moths and the whole project is worth $5 billion (AED18 billion). 

Henderson believes that once the Moon Dubai is built, the economy of the Emirates will witness a massive surge. It is expected to influence many sectors such as tourism and space tourism, entertainment and technology. Matthews and Henderson further believe that the Moon Dubai will be the most successful tourism increasing project in the MENA area. The number of tourists visiting Dubai will imminently grow. Both founders claim that it “can comfortably accommodate 10 million annual visitors.” 

An estimated 2.5 million confirmed visitors per year will also be able to witness moderate priced space tourism in Dubai. This credit will be  subject to the resort’s lunar surface. 

Space Exploration As Focal Point?

Needless to say at this point, in accordance to being an excellent location to stay, Moon Dubai also makes space exploration its focal point. The resort will be looking to allow space organisations to train astronauts. Alongside providing the luxuries of Earth in a lunar environment. Moon Dubai will soon be all set to serve astronauts as a training facility under the deep observation of various space agencies. 

Apart from that, four other Moon resorts are expected to be authorised by MWR in the upcoming years. The four are anticipated to be located in the following regions. Starting from Middle East, the resorts are expected to be available in North America, Europe, Asia and North Africa.
